Know the tout playbook
Touts usually approach in car parks, at the terminal, or on the road up to Cemoro Lawang. They offer a "cheap package" then raise the price midway, or promise things that never happen. The tell: they rush you and will not put details in writing.
The safe way to book
Book through your accommodation or an operator with clear, verifiable contact details. Ask for the details in writing: route (2 or 4 stops), people per jeep, pickup time, and total price. Keep the chat. If you stay somewhere that arranges jeeps, you skip the roadside haggling entirely.
